Amnesty International  (AI) is a non-governmental organisation focused on human rights with over 7 million members and supporters around the world. The stated objective of the organisation is "to conduct research and generate action to prevent and end grave abuses of human rights, and to demand justice for those whose rights have been violated.

Amnesty International was founded in London in 1961. In the field of international human rights organisations Amnesty has the longest history and broadest name recognition, and is believed by many to set standards for the movement as a whole.

In the AI workshop students wrote messages with a Saint George rose to send them:

My best wishes. Take heart from knowing that you are not forgotten.

Aina Mariages, 2nd A

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Have courage, you are not forgotten.

Aaron Cissé, 2nd A

Trip to Empordà

Imágenes integradas 1On 19th March I did a trip to Empordà with my school.
First, we went by bus to an old monastery in Sant Pere de Rodes. There, a guide explained us many interesting things about people that lived there many years ago: the activities that they do, their jobs in the monastery… He explained us that important people sent their children there to be educated, because there they learned to read and to write.  We saw an old bell tower but there wasn’t the bell because pirates stole it. The most of the walls were modern but we could see some originals walls.

When we finished the monastery’s visit we went to Figueres to visit Dalí’s Museum. But first we had lunch and then we walked around the town waiting to get into the museum. Finally, we started the visit of the museum.

Imágenes integradas 2There, we saw Dalí’s famous paintings and our guide explained us curios things about his life. Most of his paintings were inspirited of his wife, Gala.  The museum was an ancient theater that burned years ago.  All the museum was unusual, like him.

There was an old car and it rained inside! One of my favorite room was a dark room with a representation of a woman (Mae West) using the different parts of a living room: the eyes were paintings, the lips a sofa, the curtains her hair… But what I liked in the room was a strange hole behind the eyes, where I saw what Dalí thought that a person has in his head.

I loved this trip because I spent great time and because it was very interesting. My favorite part of the day was the visit of Dalí’s museum, because I know some of his paintings and it was incredible to see them in real life.

Excursion

The day 19th March we went to a trip.
jacques-saint-catalogne-monastere-espagne-340755-jpg_217767.JPGFirst we went to the monastery Sant Pere de Rodes. We ate breakfast before going there, because we were almost two hours by bus and we were hungry. Then we went inside and a man came to explain what there were in the monastery. He taught us all the parts of the monastery. It surprised me because it seemed small but to enter I saw all the rooms. I saw that it was very big. The truth is that I thought it was boring, but I liked it.
563085f6ef37.jpgThen we arrived to Figueras and we ate.
After we went to the Dali museum. It had so many paintings I really liked the paint that you could look from to mobile phone. It was another thing than we saw with your eyes. The museum was very big and nice. Dali is buried right in the middle of a room of the museum.

Anna Montero, 2nd D

First we went to the Monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes, there were amazing views, and very beautiful landscapes. In the monastery we were separated by classes, and there was a monitor for each class. Our monitor explained us the history of the monastery and we walked around the place.

Later we went to Figueres, first to eat and then we went to Dali's Museum. Figueres is so beautiful. My friends and I bought an ice cream. It was delicious!
Then we spoke with japanese people, they are very funny people! We love Japan!

Finally we went to the Dali's Museum, in this museum there are a lot of things. Dalí was a great artist, all of his paintings are fantastic. In the garden there are many statues, all with a meaning. In a room there are a representation of Mae West in 3D. It's awesome! In the Palace of Wind there is a very big painting on the ceiling. In this painting there are many details. And there is a painting of Gala, his wife. She looks like a very attractive model. And finally in this room there is a statue of a girl, a perfect girl.

Easter in Britain

Easter is an important celebration to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and the beginning of Spring. The children make Easter bonnets at school and then they paint hard boiled eggs to roll them and to do races. After that they usually make happy Easter cards to their parents. All the bakers make hot cross buns and people eat them with butter. Finally, when the children get home they do an Easter egg hunt with their family.

Suemy Lam, 2nd D

At Easter there are many traditions, one tradition is Easter bonnet. Easter bonnet is a popular  hat  Another tradition is Easter cards, Easter cards are written. Another tradition is to eat chocolate bunnies, Easter cake and hot cross buns. Another ttradition is to play Easter egg hunt. And finally to paint hard eggs.

Easter in Britain ir a traditional day. The children make Especial hats, Easter Bonnets. Then, the children play to find easter eggs, there are chocolate easter eggs or really easter eggs. People make hot cross buns to eat on this day. People go to the Easter parade and they make parties in this special day.
In spain, the godsfathers bring to the children a chocolate bunny or a "mona".

Patri Cano, 2nd B

Easter in Britain is very fun.
They have the easter egg hunt and they search for the chocolate eggs that the easter bunny has hidden. They also paint the eggs and have races rolling them. They make easter cards and easter bonnets, hats with easter decoration like flowers,chicks... and they have competitions with them.
All the children receive chocolate easter eggs, chocolate bunnies, easter cakes and hot cross buns, a sweet bread.

In the street there are easter parades.

In the Easter Bonnets they put rabbits, birds, flowers, and a little chickens. They make easter cards for their parents. The childrens recive a present, chocolate eggs. In Sunday in the afternoon they go to the easter parade.

Sara Escudero, 2nd B

Easter is celebrated becouse of the resurection of Jesus in Christianity. When some people cricificated Jesus, locked him in the cave with a big rock, and three days later the rock was opened and Jesus wasn't inside.
On Easter Sunday, the British children look for hard boiled eggs that their parents hide, but in Catalonia the godfather gives to his godchild an Easter egg and the godmother gives
to her godchild a type of a cake called "tortell", similar than Hot Cross Buns.
We can decorete Easter cakes with chicks, chocolate Easter eggs, and chocolate bunnies. And sometimes we can decorate them with colorful feathers, too.
In the UK you can buy hot cross buns. At Easter time I don't usually eat these things, I only have a family dinner and my aunt brings an Easter cake.

Joel Gutiérrez, 2nd C

Easter is the day that the children paint eggs in colourful colours in honor for the rock that was like the door of the cave where Christ resucitate. And they decorate colourful hats with rabbits and chicks, and the children decorate too, easter cards for their parents.
And the parents gave to children a lot of easter eggs and chocolate bunnies.
